Onions Anyone?

Dave and I don't eat a ton of vegetables. We should, but we don't. There are only a few that I really like. I'm learnig to like spinach and chard more than I ever had and one of the vegetables that we ALWAYS eat, is onions.

So...NEXT year, I'm going to look into growing onions. I always use shallots in a lot of cooking and we always have white and red onions on hand, so I'm not sure what ones I should grow, or even how to grow them. I found this good article for Tips For Growing Onions and it peaked my interest in trying them.

Johnny's offers many different varieties on onions, so I'll have plenty to chose from and a good source of information just down the hallway! :-)

If anyone grows onions out there and you're in the North east, I'd love to hear how you grow them and what varieties you grow. I'll probably have to grown them in containers, so I'm particularly interested in that.
